Haryana transfers 44 IAS Officers in significant administrative reshuffle

The Haryana government has made a significant administrative reshuffle by transferring 44 IAS officers. The changes, announced late on Sunday, include the reassignment of key positions across departments, with some officers receiving additional responsibilities.

Key reassignments of Senior Officers

Sumita Misra, a 1990-batch IAS officer, has been appointed as Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) for the home, jails, criminal investigation, and administration of justice departments. Sudhir Rajpal, who is currently the ACS for health, has been given additional responsibilities for medical education, research, and Ayush.

Anurag Rastogi, the ACS for finance, has officially been assigned the additional role of Financial Commissioner, Revenue, and Disaster Management. Anand Mohan Sharan, ACS for environment, forests, and wildlife, will now also oversee food, civil supplies, and consumer affairs.

Ashok Khemka, previously in charge of printing and stationery, has been appointed ACS for transport. Vineet Garg, who was the ACS for school education, has taken over as ACS for higher education and chairman of the Haryana State Pollution Control Board. Apoorva Kumar Singh, the ACS for energy, will also handle town and country planning, while Anurag Aggarwal, ACS for irrigation and public works, has been assigned as adviser to the Haryana Saraswati Heritage Board.

New roles across departments

D Suresh, resident commissioner of Haryana Bhawan, has been given the additional responsibility of principal secretary for industries and commerce. Shyamal Misra, the chief administrator of the Trade Fair Authority of Haryana, will also serve as the CEO for the Gurugram and Faridabad Metropolitan Development Authorities, in addition to his role as principal secretary for civil aviation.

Rajeev Ranjan, principal secretary for fisheries, will now oversee labor. Vijay Dahiya has been moved from archives to commissioner and secretary roles in printing, stationery, and animal husbandry. Mohammad Shayin, managing director of HPGCL, has been named commissioner and secretary for public health while retaining his responsibilities in housing for all.

Amit Aggarwal, previously handling development and panchayats, has been given additional roles in public relations and foreign cooperation. Ashima Brar has been appointed excise and taxation commissioner and MD of HVPN, while Ashok Meena is now MD for UHBVN and HPGCL.

Divisional commissioners and other appointments

PC Meena has been assigned as divisional commissioner for Ambala, and A Sreenivas has taken over as divisional commissioner for Hisar while continuing as managing director of DHBVN. Sanjeev Verma, previously the divisional commissioner for Rohtak, will now direct the sports, Ayush, and foreign cooperation departments. Anshaj Singh has replaced him as divisional commissioner for Rohtak.

In other roles, Yash Garg, director of industries and commerce, will also serve as commissioner for food and drug administration and MD of the Haryana Medical Services Corporation Ltd. Pankaj, special secretary for finance, has been appointed as director for urban local bodies and supplies and disposal.

Registrar of co-operative societies, Rajesh Jogpal, has taken on additional responsibilities as director of food, civil supplies, and consumer affairs. Meanwhile, Mukul Kumar will serve as MD for HAFED, and Narhari Banger has been appointed as adviser for civil aviation.

This reshuffle aims to streamline governance and improve efficiency across departments.
